Extract (unzip) the file. You will see a file named with a .bin extension (e.g., HTR3065_xxxx.bin ).
Use a drive with a capacity of 16GB or less. It must be formatted to the FAT16 or FAT32 file system. NTFS or exFAT formats will not be recognized by the receiver.

The receiver cannot detect the update file. Double-check that your USB drive is formatted to FAT32, the .bin file is in the root directory, and the file name has not been altered. Try using a smaller USB drive (under 8GB).
The next step was to connect the USB drive to the Yamaha HTR-3065 receiver. John located the USB port on the back of the receiver and plugged in the drive. He then navigated to the receiver's settings menu and selected the firmware update option. It must be formatted to the FAT16 or FAT32 file system
